I'm Mike Beshai, a software engineer with a passion for distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, I've spent nearly seven years building and shipping the File Storage Service — a large-scale, production distributed system used by thousands of cloud customers.

Operational excellence isn't an afterthought for me — it's a design principle. I've led teams through the full arc of building cloud services: architecture, implementation, on-call, and the unglamorous work of keeping things reliable at scale.

Earlier I built backend systems at Udacity in Mountain View and scaled data infrastructure at Loblaw Digital in Toronto. I've shipped production software in Go, Python, Java, and Node across a range of domains — and I lead with that same hands-on perspective.
